The Penn State Behrend women’s water polo team opened the Collegiate Water Polo Association Regional Tournament with a win over Wheaton. Marley Persch, a junior from Hudsonville, Michigan, scored her 100th career goal.

The Lions scored eight runs in the first inning against Ursinus. Andrew Bredel, a freshman from Clinton, struck out six batters in six innings of work. He gave up one run on four hits in his first collegiate start.

- Saint Mary’s 15, Penn State Behrend 11

Abby Tingley, a sophomore from Union City, pitched a shutout against Husson, giving up just four hits and no walks. Emi Curcio, a senior from Perryopolis, hit a triple in the win over Otterbein.

Susie Carrillo, a sophomore from Fresno, California, scored six goals against Washington & Jefferson. Darragh Martin, a sophomore from Green Lane, scored five goals.
