1. DR. LENA SURZHKO-HARNED COMMENTS ABOUT UKRAINE

All of us in political science are concerned for the people and democratic future of Ukraine.

Dr. Lena Surzhko-Harned, an assistant teaching professor who is originally from Ukraine and teaches courses about politics in Russia and Ukraine and the rest of Europe, has had many requests for commentary about recent events in Ukraine.

Last week, she spoke with Australian Broadcasting Corporation's NewsRadio about the German cancellation of a natural gas pipeline with Russia. The audio is available on the ABC NewsRadio website.

She has also spoken with Erie News Now about the situation in Ukraine. Find more info on ErieNewsNow.com.

This month, Dr. Surzhko-Harned spoke to the Mercyhurst University National Security Club and hosted two Behrend Public Policy Fund online forums about Ukraine and NATO's role. Those forums, which included international academic experts, can be viewed on our Public Policy Fund at Penn State Behrend webpage.

On March 7, she will be speaking about "Ukraine and Russia: Troubling Signs, Frustrations, and History of a Conflict" at the Jefferson Educational Society in Erie. Her presentation will be free for students. Details can be found by visiting Jefferson Educational Society.
