The Penn State Behrend baseball team finished spring break play with a 5-5 record, including an 11-8 victory over Drew. Seven different players drove in runs in the game.
Behrend’s softball, tennis, track and field and water polo teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:

Thomas Zbezinski, a senior from Gibsonia, pitched a complete game in the opener against Gettysburg. He struck out seven batters. Derrick Shields, a junior from Waterford, pitched a complete game in the nightcap, striking out nine. Mac Ciocco, a freshman from Venetia, hit a double, scoring two runs, in the win over Drew.

Cami McNany, a junior from Emlenton, hit a home run against Northwestern. Maria Jones, a sophomore from Wilcox, hit a double.
Men’s track and field
Braeden Smith, a senior from Erie, placed third in the high jump at the NCAA Championship, clearing a height of 2.03 meters. Samuel Hetrick, a sophomore from New Bethlehem, placed fifth after he also cleared a height of 2.03 meters. Both earned All-American honors.

Alex Graeca, a freshman from DuBois, won at No. 6 singles against Gordon. With partner Evan Dean, a freshman from New Castle, he also won at No. 3 doubles, by a score of 8-7. Mitchell May, a junior from Erie, won at No. 2 singles against St. John Fisher.
Women’s water polo
- Penn State Behrend 12, Caltech 8
- Occidental 12, Penn State Behrend 8
Shannon Young, a junior from Roseville, California, scored five goals against Caltech. Marley Persch, a freshman from Hudsonville, Michigan, scored four against Occidental.
