Behrend bowling team places 3rd at Walsh Invitational

The Penn State Behrend women’s bowling team placed third at the two-day Walsh Invitational in Canton, Ohio.

ERIE, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend women’s bowling team placed third at the two-day Walsh Invitational in Canton, Ohio. The Lions travel to Pitt-Bradford on Jan. 21.

Behrend’s basketball and wrestling teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:

 

Men’s basketball

La Roche 70, Penn State Behrend 53

Penn State Behrend 86, Mt. Aloysius 63

Tommy DiRienzo, a junior from Pittsburgh, led the Lions against Mt. Aloysius, scoring a game-high 20 points. RJ Marsh, a senior from State College, added 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

 

Women’s basketball

La Roche 79, Penn State Behrend 76 (OT)

Penn State Behrend 90, Mt. Aloysius 39

Madilyn Boyer, a freshman from Saxonburg, scored 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds against La Roche. Rachel Majewski, a sophomore from Erie, scored 22 points against Mt. Aloysius.

Mars McAninch, a freshman from Cincinnati, Ohio, bowled a 192 against Wright State on the first day of the Walsh Invitational. Bella Piliyh, a junior from Pittsburgh, bowled a 187 against Emmanuel.

Pitt-Bradford 45, Penn State Behrend 11

Hiram 33, Penn State Behrend 22

Zach Dellinger, a freshman from Williamsville, New York, won by major decision against Alfred State in the 125-pound bout and against Hiram in the 133-pound bout. Matt Posego, a sophomore from Saegertown, won by pinfall against Hiram. He wrestles at 174 pounds.
