ERIE, Pa. — Approximately 1,200 students attended Penn State Behrend’s Welcome Week concert, which featured the rapper Waka Flocka Flame and DJ Climax. The concert was free for Behrend students and was not open to the public.

The Atlanta-based rapper reached the Top 20 of the Billboard R&B and hip-hop charts with 2009’s “O Let’s Do It,” a collaboration with L-Don Beatz. He also has recorded with Drake, Gucci Mane and Slim Dunkin.

He drew on his catalog, which includes the songs “Hard in Da Paint,” “No Hands” and “Wild Boy,” at his Behrend performance, which was staged at the college’s soccer and lacrosse complex.

The concert was sponsored by the office of Student Leadership and Involvement and the Student Activity Fee. An after-party in McGarvey Commons featured glow golf and roller skating.
