ERIE, Pa. — Penn State Behrend’s swimming and diving teams defeated Penn State Altoona in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference dual meet on Dec. 2. Tim Compton and Dan Tanaskovic each won four events in the men’s competition. Jadyn Danylko and Marin O’Lone each won four events in the women’s meet.
Behrend’s basketball, track and field, bowling and wrestling teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:
Men’s basketball
Pitt-Greensburg 72, Penn State Behrend 68
Penn State Behrend 93, Carlow 44
Tommy DiRienzo, a senior from Pittsburgh, scored 25 points in the team’s first game against Carlow. Matthew McDonough, a sophomore from Pittsburgh, scored 19 points against Pitt-Greensburg.
Women’s basketball

Rachel Majewski, a junior from Erie, scored 30 points against Pitt-Greensburg. Rachel Kaulis, a senior from McKean, grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds.
Men’s swimming and diving
Penn State Behrend 170.5, Penn State Altoona 91.5
Will Perham, a sophomore from Upper St. Clair, won the 50 breaststroke (28.41) and the 100 breaststroke (1:02.17). He also swam a leg of the 200 medley relay, which Behrend won.
Women’s swimming and diving
Penn State Behrend 186, Penn State Altoona 76
Camryn Watters, a freshman from Greensburg, won the 50 free (26.23) and the 100 free (58.22). Isabel Sheridan, a sophomore from Allentown, won the 1,000 free (11:43.48) and the 500 free (5:44.24). Hanny Shen, a freshman from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, won the 50 breaststroke (34.12) and the 100 breaststroke (1:16.00).
Men’s track and field
Ryan Festa, a senior from Horsham, placed second in the pole vault at the Houghton December Classic. He cleared a height of 15 feet, 3 inches. Brendan Luce, a sophomore from Lakewood, New York, placed third in the 60-meter race, finishing in 7.24.
Women’s track and field
Madison Kappeler, a senior from Cecil, placed third in the pole vault at the Houghton December Classic. She cleared a height of 10 feet, 2 inches.
Women’s bowling

Sidney Batsa, a junior from Latrobe, led the Lions with a 192 in the first match and a 163 in the second.
Wrestling
Ninth (of 15 teams) at the RIT Invitational
Peyton Hearn, a senior from Conneaut Lake, placed second in the 149-pound weight class. He won matches by technical fall, pin, medical forfeit and major decision before losing in the championship bout.
