Behrend relay team wins at Slippery Rock’s Dave Labor Invitational

The Penn State Behrend men’s 4x100 relay team won at Slippery Rock’s Dave Labor Invitational on April 5, finishing in 42.07.

The Penn State Behrend men’s 4x100 relay team won at Slippery Rock’s Dave Labor Invitational on April 5. The team – Marshall Nock, Jake Egizio, Carter Tobin and Brandon Konieczki – finished in 42.07.

Ryan Visosky, a sophomore from Erie, won the discus event, completing a 40.85-meter throw. He qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Outdoor Championships.

In the women’s events, Norah Keeney, a freshman from Ontario, New York, placed third in the discus, completing a 31.79-meter throw. Julia Balaski, a junior from Mercer, placed fifth in the javelin, recording a 37.13-meter throw.

Behrend’s baseball, softball, volleyball, water polo and tennis teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:

Baseball

  • Penn State Behrend 4, Pitt-Bradford 2
  • Penn State Behrend 12, Pitt-Bradford 5

Mac Ciocco, a senior from Venetia, earned his 100th collegiate RBI in the nightcap against Pitt-Bradford. He scored five runners on four hits. Daniel Boehme, a senior from Peters Township, batted three-for-five, including two doubles.

Softball

  • Penn State Behrend 12, Pitt-Bradford 4
  • Penn State Behrend 5, Pitt-Bradford 2

Sierra Williams, a senior from Grove City, batted two-for-four in the opener against Pitt-Bradford. She had two doubles and four RBIs. Hannah Smith, a freshman from Harborcreek Township, hit a triple.

Men’s volleyball

  • Buffalo State 3, Penn State Behrend 0
  • Penn State Behrend 3, Grove City 1
  • Penn State Behrend 3, Hilbert 2

Daniel Easly, a junior from Erie, had 20 kills, seven digs, four blocks and two service aces against Hilbert. Luke Mumpower, a junior from North Huntingdon, had 28 assists and a team-best 15 digs. The Lions will enter the AMCC tournament with the No. 3 seed.

Women’s water polo

  • Grove City 14, Penn State Behrend 8
  • Salem 17, Penn State Behrend 3
  • Grove City 17, Penn State Behrend 13 (OT)
  • Washington & Jefferson 26, Penn State Behrend 8

Nic Darrell, a senior from Perkasie, and Darragh Martin, a junior from Green Lane, scored their 100th career goals at the Gannon Invite. Darrell scored four against Grove City.

Women’s tennis

  • Mt. Union 5, Penn State Behrend 2

Tamanna Sharma, a junior from Brampton, Canada, won at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 7-5. Enisa Siljkovic, a freshman from Erie, won at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-2.
