Penn State Behrend’s wrestlers were named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Dual-Meet Champions, finishing the season with wins over Alfred State and the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
ERIE, Pa. — Penn State Behrend’s wrestlers were named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Dual-Meet Champions, finishing the season with wins over Alfred State and the Pennsylvania College of Technology:
- Penn State Behrend 35, Alfred State 15
- Penn State Behrend 24, Pennsylvania College of Technology 20
Three Behrend wrestlers were double-winners on the day: Zach Dellinger, a senior from Buffalo, New York (125 pounds); Abraham Keep, a junior from Girard (197 pounds); and Mason Savitz, a freshman from Corry (174 pounds).
The Lions host St. John Fisher on Jan. 17.
Behrend’s basketball teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:
Men’s basketball
- Penn State Behrend 60, Mt. Aloysius 54
- Penn State Behrend 72, Pitt-Greensburg 66
Matthew McDonough, a senior from Pittsburgh, scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds against Mt. Aloysius. Nate Edwards, a sophomore from Girard, scored 18 points against Pitt-Greensburg.
Women’s basketball
- Penn State Behrend 76, Mt. Aloysius 59
- Penn State Behrend 72, Pitt-Greensburg 28
Julia Balaski, a senior from Mercer, scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds against Mt. Aloysius. She also had a career-high eight assists. Madilyn Boyer, a senior from Saxonburg, scored 17 points.
