The mission of Residence Life is to support and advocate for student rights, promote civic and community responsibility, and provide a safe, diverse, and challenging living and learning environment. The Residence Life programs at all Penn State campuses recognize that the environment has an impact on student development, that the University has the resources and commitment to structure the environment in ways that enhance that development, and that the on-campus living experience is a significant aspect of the student's total education.
Each floor in the residence halls and suites, as well as each student apartment building, has one Resident Assistant (RA) who serves as the primary resource and aide for the residents on that floor or in that building. RAs are carefully selected and trained in order that they may best fulfill the needs of the student-residents.
