- Emails must be sent from your Penn State email address, not from an alias or group email address.
- Keep your emails as brief as possible—the shorter the message, the more likely it is to be read.
- For the employee listserv, confirm that your message is relevant to all employees (e.g., emails about students missing class should go to the faculty listserv).
- Plan to send no more than two emails about a given subject or event—an initial email and one follow-up announcement.
- If your message is being sent through a delegate, please provide a subject line. Note that messages will be sent as is. Delegates will not edit or proofread.
- Don’t send image-only emails: key info must be in text so it’s readable on all devices and by screen readers.
- If you use images, they should support (not replace) your message. Include descriptive alt text to describe the images for accessibility.
