Students and community members crowded Penn State Behrend's Erie Hall for an April 8 political rally. Even more voters would participate if primaries were open and legislative districts were more fairly drawn, political experts at the college say.
In keeping with Penn State Behrend's longstanding tradition of inviting a member of the faculty to address graduation candidates and their guests, Dr. Ashutosh Deshmukh, professor of accounting and management information systems, was the speaker at the Friday, May 6, commencement at Erie Insurance Arena.
A total of 572 degrees were conferred this past Friday, May 6, at Penn State Behrend's Spring Commencement.
Ashutosh V. Deshmukh, professor of accounting and management information systems and chair of the iMBA program, was the commencement speaker at the ceremony. Chancellor Ralph Ford and Council of Fellows Chairman J. Scott McCain also offered remarks.
New graduates Trey Neveux, of Butler, and Catalina Stevenson, of Norristown, were both student speakers.
The scholarly works of 38 faculty members were on display Thursday, April 21, at the Faculty Publication Reception at Penn State Behrend.
The reception, held at the college’s John M. Lilley Library, gave Penn State Behrend faculty members the opportunity to display work published since 2014. Publications included authored books, peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, chapters or essays appearing in textbooks, and other print.
