Penn State Behrend students develop video maze game

A video game created by students at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, is generating buzz on Steam Greenlight, a PC-gaming website with more than 40 million users. Support on the site could position the game for success on Steam's commercial portal, where, at any given time, the top titles are being played by more than 600,000 gamers.

Shane Shafferman, a senior at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, developed "Colorful Life," a four-player, cooperative maze game. The game is getting good reviews on Steam Greenlight, a PC-gaming website with more than 40 million users.

Erie job growth outpaces national rate

The Erie Leading Index, a quarterly snapshot of the region's economy, surged to a record high in the final quarter of 2013. Six of eight key indicators increased, said Jim Kurre, professor of economics at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, and director of the Economic Research Institute of Erie.
