Oleksiy Goncharenko is a Ukrainian politician, member of the Ukrainian parliament, member of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and Vice President of the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons.

Josiah Burkett, a senior from Edinboro, received the Thomas H. Turnbull award, which honors a Penn State Behrend student who has contributed to the college community through qualities of character, scholarship, leadership and citizenship.
The Penn State Behrend softball team won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference regular-season championship with a sweep of Pitt-Greensburg on April 28. The Lions will host the AMCC tournament, which begins May 9.
