Seventy-two student teams presented their work at Penn State Behrend’s Fasenmyer Engineering Design Conference, which was held in Burke Center on April 29.
Penn State Behrend awarded 632 degrees at the college’s spring commencement program. Dr. Ala Stanford, the founder of the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium, gave the commencement address.
Forty new graduates of the nursing program at Penn State Behrend gathered before commencement for a pinning ceremony, where they committed to a life of service with a tradition that dates to the Crusades. This year’s program was held at the Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center in Erie.
The Richard J. Fasenmyer Engineering Design Conference showcases the results of yearlong engineering senior capstone projects supervised and managed by students and guided by their faculty and industry advisers. In many cases, the projects address applied problems posed by industrial sponsors, providing real-world experience for Behrend students.

Penn State Behrend’s second annual Run for Women included a 3.1-mile loop of the college’s Knowledge Park. A total of 180 people registered for the event.
