Six former student-athletes -- three of whom still hold program records -- have been inducted into the Penn State Behrend Athletics Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony was held in McGarvey Commons, in the college's Reed Union Building.
More than 1,250 students attended Penn State Behrend's fall Career and Internship Fair on Sept. 25. The program was open to current students at every college in Erie County.
This spring, about 14,000 Penn State graduates received diplomas across the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, many in ceremonies at campuses other than University Park. More than 400 students from 34 area schools competed in the 2019 regional Science Oylmpiad at Penn State Behrend. The competition tested their knowledge of chemistry, forensics, meteorology, anatomy, optics and robotics, among other topics.
Penn State Behrend's 17th annual Tuba Christmas concert drew a large crowd to McGarvey Commons, in the college's Reed Union Building. The holiday concert is a showcase for low-brass musicians -- many of whom wore pajamas. "Low-brass players tend to have a good sense of humor and a real love of what they do," said Gary Viebranz, director of instrumental ensembles at the college. "There's a real camaraderie there."
