The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) is a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance. Penn State Behrend was the first college in the Penn State system to complete a STARS assessment in 2020 earning a Bronze level. In 2023 we completed our second tri-annual assessment, improving to a Silver level.
Continuing our species, our communities, and our society requires a change in mindset. Here at Behrend, we work to achieve that by incorporating the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in all aspects of campus life.
