The winning writers of Penn State University Libraries Short Stories’ “Brunchin’ Around” fall 2019 contest have been announced. Representing seven Penn State campuses, the latest writing contest challenged Penn State students, faculty and staff across the commonwealth to unleash their best original short stories or poetry on the theme "Brunchin’ Around."
Clare Beams will read stories from her collection “We Show What We Have Learned” on Thursday, Oct. 24, when the Creative Writers Reading Series returns to Penn State Behrend. Her 6 p.m. reading and the reception that will precede it are free and open to the public. Both events will be held in the Metzgar Center lobby.
As Penn State University Libraries launches into its third University-wide Libraries Short Stories writing contest, previous Penn State authors’ winning works now have twice the potential to be printed and read across Pennsylvania, with the University Libraries’ installation of new Short Edition story dispensers at five of its Commonwealth Campus libraries.
