The grand reopening of Yahn Planetarium at Penn State Behrend will include a special showing of the film "Forward! To the Moon," which explores NASA's Artemis mission.
“Extracurricular involvement helps students become part of the Behrend community,” said Kris Motta Torok, director of Student Leadership and Involvement. “It helps them make friends and more fully explore their interests outside of class.”
The Discovery Fair at Penn State Behrend is a showcase for the college's clubs and service organizations, which include the Lion Entertainment Board, Reality Check and the Random Acts of Kindness Club.
“Engagement looks different for different students,” said Ashley Kaminski, coordinator of Student Leadership and Involvement. “Some are looking for social opportunities. Others are interested in service. By combining these two events, we’re able to show students all of the options that we have at Behrend.”
The Discovery Fair paired two existing programs -- the Club Showcase and the Leadership and Service Fair -- to better show students the full scope of extracurricular offerings at Penn State Behrend.

Penn State Behrend is home to more than 140 student organizations. Most had tables at this year’s Discovery Fair, the big meet-and-greet on the lawn of the Reed Union Building.
The Penn State Behrend women’s volleyball team finished the Behrend Invitational with a 2-1 record, beating Geneva and Oswego State but losing to Grove City.
