High school students and their families can meet with faculty from Penn State Behrend's four schools to learn more about the college's 40 undergraduate degrees and 50 minors and certificates. A student information fair, admissions and financial aid information sessions, and tours of campus, residence halls and labs also will be offered.
Lena Surzhko-Harned, associate teaching professor of political science and associate director of the Public Policy Initiative at Penn State Behrend, has received the 2024 Outreach and Online Education Emerging Faculty Award for Engaged Scholarship. The award recognizes early-career tenure-track and non-tenure-track faculty members whose work has significant potential to advance engaged scholarship through teaching, research and/or service.

Samiha Choudhury, a senior majoring in political science at Penn State Behrend, has been named the recipient of the 2024 Ralph Dorn Hetzel Memorial Award. Named for Penn State’s 10th president, the Hetzel Award recognizes a combination of high scholastic attainment together with good citizenship and participation and leadership in student activities.
