Encouragement and reassurance from a trusted romantic partner can ease some women's perceptions of acute pain, according to research by Carol Wilson, an associate professor of psychology at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. The effect can be measured as a physical response, including a decreased heart rate.
Penn State Behrend will hold its annual spring admissions open house for prospective students on April 1. A Student Information Fair, admissions and financial aid information session, walking tour of campus, lab demonstrations, a complimentary lunch, and more will be offered.
