Purpose
The Athletics Committee advises and monitors athletic standards related to the educational function of the college and the University. It approves athletic schedules, considers eligibility of students for intercollegiate athletics, and helps promote a sound academic climate for the intercollegiate athletic program. The Athletic Director and Faculty Athletic Representative (appointed by the Chancellor) serve as ex officio members of this Committee. Members of the intercollegiate coaching staff, other than the Athletic Director, are ineligible to serve on this Committee.
Charges
- Consult and report on action taken or to be taken with respect to athletic standards related to the educational function of the college and university.
- Approve athletics schedules and eligibility of students for intercollegiate athletics.
- Continue to engage with the Student Athlete Advisory Council.
- Pursue development of a data query system to determine credit enrollment for athletes.
