Management Information Systems (MIS)

One of the most valuable resources in today’s world? Data. With the B.S. in Management Information Systems, or MIS, from Penn State Behrend, you’ll learn to collect, store, organize, extract, analyze, and interpret data—making you an essential member of any organization.

Many MIS majors have interests in both the business world and technology—which makes sense, given that you’ll take core courses in both business and programming while studying how to save an organization time, money, and frustration by harnessing the power of big data.

Why Penn State Behrend?

At Penn State Behrend, you’ll tailor your MIS degree to your specific career interests—by selecting from the Business Analyst or Data Analyst focus areas, by choosing upper-level electives, and by completing a required internship experience.

Plus, your studies in the Black School of Business mean you’ll learn in small classes with supportive, experienced faculty, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on real-world projects for organizations in the Erie community through the Partnership Erie outreach program.
