Participatory Artmaking Workshop with the 2023–24 Penn State Laureate
Tuesday, February 27, 1:00–3:00 p.m. (NEW DATE!)
Reed Auditorium, 117 Reed Union Building
Lori Hepner, a professor of integrative arts at Penn State Greater Allegheny and the 2023-24 Penn State Laureate, will host a drop-in participatory light painting workshop at Penn State Behrend. The Drawing with Light Workshop, scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at Reed Auditorium, 117 Reed Union Building, invites attendees to use programmable LED light devices, including wearable LEDs and a 6’ tall light stick. These devices serve as Hepner’s photographic paintbrushes to visualize movements in real-time projections. She will use the imagery created during the event to create public art for display across Penn State.
The event is free and open to the public; no registration or prior skills needed. Attendees are kindly asked to refrain from wearing scented products.
This is a fragrance-free event. Please refrain from wearing scented products, such as perfume, cologne, and fragrant personal care products, while attending the event, as these products can trigger serious health issues for those with fragrance allergies and sensitivities.
