Russell native Chad A. Lindell, a business-intelligence consultant who has worked with the U.S. departments of Justice and State, has received the Penn State Alumni Association’s Alumni Achievement Award, which recognizes extraordinary professional accomplishment at or before age 35.
Lindell is a 2005 graduate of the Sam and Irene Black School of Business, where he studied management information systems. While a student, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves; he delayed his studies during a 16-month deployment to Iraq, where he led a gun truck team on fuel-resupply missions.
Lindell went on to work as a senior consultant for business intelligence development at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he developed custom reporting portals that filtered critical agency statistics for key leaders at the Justice Department. He also created a dashboard-style reporting system for the State Department, providing insight into daily VISA and passport operations at U.S. embassies and consulates.
In 2010, Lindell founded IntelliMetrics Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based business intelligence and geospatial intelligence consulting firm. He currently works with the Justice Department, providing streamlined operational and internal budget information.
“They have a massive amount of data available to them,” he said. “I help them sift through it and get a quick overview of whatever they want to look at.”
Much of his work for the agency is focused on hiring, budgeting processes and establishing more efficient workflows. “The ultimate goal is to save the government money,” he said.
