Behrend men's soccer team competes in Brick City Classic

The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team faced the College of New Jersey on the second day of the Brick City Classic.

ERIE, Pa. — The first half of Penn State Behrend’s game against the College of New Jersey brought a combined four shots. The second half had 23. Cameron Eckberg, a senior from Westmoreland City, scored the lone goal for the Lions, finding the net in the 65th minute.

Cameron Eckberg, a senior from Westmoreland City, earned the lone goal against the College of New Jersey, scoring off a blocked shot. Goalkeeper Conor Suchar, a sophomore from Moon Township, made three saves.

Penn State Behrend 4, Buffalo State 0

Goalkeeper Madi Jones, a senior from Clearfield, made four saves against Trine. Christine Patterson, a sophomore from McKean, scored a goal and added an assist against Buffalo State.

Kristin Reiland, a senior from Fairview, recorded 12 kills, 10 digs and three aces against Westminster. She was named to the All-Tournament Team. Hannah Phillips, a sophomore from Pittsburgh, had 13 kills and 12 digs against Bluffton.

Men’s golf

Seventh (of 18 teams) at the Grove City Invitational

Alex Pol, a senior from Erie, tied for ninth in a field of 94 golfers. He shot a 78. Jake Caldwell, a sophomore from Belle Vernon, shot an 82.

Nazareth 8, Penn State Behrend 1

In the second match against Pitt-Bradford, the Lions swept the doubles events without losing a set. Tyler Dollard, a freshman from Pittsburgh, earned his first victory at No. 1 singles.

Erica Jasinski, a junior from Fairview, won at No. 1 singles against Pitt-Bradford with scores of 6-0, 6-1. She and Emily Roman, a freshman from Pittsburgh, won the No. 2 doubles match.

Eli Anderson, a sophomore from Encinitas, California, scored four goals against Washington & Jefferson. Ryan Kenney, a junior from Skippack, scored four against Augustana.
