Mission Statement
The Counseling Center at Penn State Behrend is committed to supporting students as they move through their college experience. We intend to educate and equip students to facilitate growth and durable success. This is accomplished by promoting a culture of wellbeing in collaboration with our community.
Confidentiality
In accordance with the Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA), students 18 and older are considered to hold the privilege of privacy to any academic or health records. However, information may be released when there is clear and present danger to a student, another person, or the Behrend community. In this case, only relevant information will be released. This action is meant to ensure the safety of students and the Behrend community. Parental support is encouraged.
Diversity
The Counseling Center welcomes all students. We embrace diversity and the inclusiveness of individuals regardless of their gender, race, sexual orientation, cultural and religious backgrounds, and abilities. We also are committed to helping all students deal with discrimination and identity issues.
