The Peer-to-Peer Program provides Penn State Behrend students with access to peer-based, confidential support for navigating life transitions, decision-making processes, relationships, and other challenges of student life.
Behrend Peers are a diverse group of students trained in basic advising skills who receive ongoing supervision and support from the Counseling Center staff.
Behrend Peers offer students a safe and inclusive space to discuss a wide range of concerns in support of their overall well-being and personal growth.
Common concerns discussed with Behrend Peers may include the following:
Stress
Feelings of anxiety
Feelings of depression
College adjustment
Relationship and communication difficulties (including those with family, friends, romantic partners, roommates, classmates, and others)
Identity development
Connection and sense of belonging

The Peer-to-Peer Program is not equipped to provide psychotherapy or clinical counseling for severe or long-term mental health disorders or emergency mental health crises.
