Penn State Behrend alumna Mary (Good) Lawrence gave the commencement address at the college's 2019 spring commencement ceremony, held Friday, May 3, at Erie Insurance Arena. The college awarded 713 degrees during the program.
Charlotte de Vries, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Penn State Behrend, spent the summer of 2017 at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, as part of a NASA Fellowship where she worked with ECLSS engineers. She will discuss her experience on Thursday, Jan. 31, when Open House Night in Astronomy returns to Penn State Behrend.
Astronaut Mike Fincke will discuss his experience with NASA at an Open House Night in Astronomy at Penn State Behrend on Thursday, Nov. 1. His presentation, “Space Exploration: the International Space Station, the Moon and Beyond,” will begin at 7 p.m. in room 180 of the Jack Burke Research and Economic Development Center, 5101 Jordan Road.
Charlotte Marr de Vries, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Penn State Behrend, completed a 10-week faculty fellowship at NASA's George C. Marshall Space Flight Center. She worked with a team that studied water and air systems for a proposed space flight to Mars.
