The Penn State Behrend baseball team split two double-headers against Eastern Mennonite in the team’s first action of the 2025 season. Daniel Boehme, a senior from Peters Township, opened the third game with a two-run double in the top of the first.

Penn State Behrend’s swimming and diving teams won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championships and placed second overall at the SUNYAC-AMCC meet in Buffalo, New York. Tim Compton and Camryn Watters were named Swimmers of the Meet.

The Penn State Behrend men’s volleyball team opened Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play with two wins over Mt. Aloysius. The Lions finished with scores of 3-1 and 3-0. Kyle Hoffman, a junior from Carlton, had 26 kills.
Penn State Behrend and Penn State Harrisburg have received the new Carnegie Classification for “Research Colleges and Universities” — a designation awarded by the American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching that recognizes institutions with at least $2.5 million in research and development expenditures from external and internal funding in an average year. Overall, Penn State retained its Research 1 (R1) standing, indicating the highest levels of research expenditures and doctorate production.
Penn State Behrend’s All-Access Career Fair will expand the spring event’s traditional format, opening it to job-seekers with all levels of education. The Feb. 13 program, offered in partnership with Erie County government and PA CareerLink, will be open to the public.

Brandon Konieczki set an indoor program record in the long jump at the Brockport Multi, clearing a distance of 7.09 meters. He won the event and qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference regionals.
