The Penn State Behrend women’s tennis team placed second at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship, at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford. Pitt-Greensburg won the title, 5-0. The Lions finish their season with an 8-4 record.

Behrend programs will focus on ChatGPT and generative AI in higher ed

ChatGPT will never fully replace human writing, according to Stephen Monroe, assistant dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Mississippi. Monroe will discuss the technology during an Oct. 10 visit to Penn State Behrend. “Some parts of the writing process will always need to remain offline, and slow,” he said.

Kyocera AVX plans to build manufacturing center in Behrend’s Knowledge Park

Kyocera AVX, a global manufacturer of advanced electronic components, is planning to build an approximately 50,000-square-foot production facility in Knowledge Park at Penn State Behrend. The facility will serve as a corporate headquarters and manufacturing base for a new division created by Kyocera’s purchase of Erie-based Bliley Technologies.
