A two-year study coordinated by faculty members at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, could help students who excel at math while in high school but struggle with the same material in college.
Josh Kolarac recently completed his junior year at Penn State Behrend where he has been a standout, both on the soccer field and in the newsroom. He has started as a defender the past two seasons for the Behrend men’s soccer team and has served as editor of the Behrend Beacon, the college’s weekly student newspaper.
Penn State Behrend holds two commencement ceremonies each academic year, in December and May. The December ceremony is held on campus in Junker Center; the spring ceremony is held in Erie Insurance Arena in downtown Erie. Guest tickets are not needed for either event.

The Smith Carillon Concert Series at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, will return this July to the college. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

Nicole Krahe and Olivia Narciso earned degrees in Arts Administration from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. Their capstone projects — a networking event and a pop-up exhibition — supported Erie artists and arts organizations.
“Art sometimes has this stigma of being out of reach for people,” said Laura Flockerzi, a new graduate of the Arts Administration Program at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. Community projects coordinated by her and other graduates just might change that.
