In the Fall 2011 semester, two speeches were held in Logan House that were free and open to the public. Both talks focused on Erie Ethnic Dreams with respect to certain cultural groups. On September 29, ex-Erie mayor Joyce Savocchio discussed Italians in Erie, and on October 20, William Garvey, President of Jefferson Educational Society, discussed the Irish in Erie. In October 2009, Rev. Charles Brock hosted four panels in Logan House on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. Each of these talks attempted to answer the question of whether or not Erie was losing the American Dream.
