Penn State Behrend’s 2016 Faculty Awards were presented this month during the college’s first Faculty Senate meeting of the semester.

Jason Bennett, associate professor of chemistry, received the Council of Fellows Faculty Research Award, which recognizes faculty members who, in the opinion of their peers, truly fill the role of inspired, dedicated researchers.

Gabrielle Dietrich, lecturer in music and director of choral ensembles, received the Council of Fellows Faculty Excellence in Outreach Award, which recognizes a faculty member who, in the opinion of students, colleagues, and community leaders, most truly embodies the outreach mission of the college, community, and academic profession.

Ed Evans, senior lecturer in engineering, received the Guy W. Wilson Award for Excellence in Academic Advising, which encourages and rewards excellence in academic advising by faculty members.

Adam Hollinger, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, received the Council of Fellows Excellence in Teaching Award, which recognizes a faculty member who, in the opinion of students, alumni, and colleagues, truly fills the role of an effective teacher.
