Coaches Caravan Event with Football Coach James Franklin Sells Out

The reception for James Franklin's visit to Penn State Behrend is officially sold out.Penn State football coach James Franklin’s May 22 program at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, is officially sold out.

The 6 p.m. reception is the final stop in a 17-event Coaches Caravan sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association and the Nittany Lion Club.

Assistant coach Herb Hand will join Franklin in Erie. Hand, who coaches the offensive line and coordinates Penn State’s running game, worked with Franklin at Vanderbilt University, where the Commodores had consecutive nine-win seasons and two bowl victories.

Penn State softball coach Amanda Lehotak and men’s volleyball coach Mark Pavlik also will attend the Penn State Behrend event. They will highlight Penn State’s “One Team” philosophy, which links athletes on 31 varsity teams and at 24 campuses to promote both athletic and academic success.

The Coaches Caravan began May 1 in State College. Additional stops include Penn State York, Penn State Fayette, the Pennsylvania College of Technology and Franklin’s alma mater, East Stroudsburg University. The tour also will visit alumni strongholds in Baltimore, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

Erie is the fifth Coaches Caravan event to sell out.
