Eight members of the faculty at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, have been promoted and granted tenure:
Papiya Bhattacharjee is now associate professor of Mathematics. She teaches calculus, abstract and linear algebra and topology.
Pelin Bicen is now associate professor of Marketing. She teaches marketing strategy, new product development, brand management and marketing research.
Ozgun Caliskan Demirag is now associate professor of Management. She teaches operations planning and control, supply chain management and quantitative methods for business.
Daniel Galiffa is now associate professor of Mathematics. He teaches calculus, differential equations, linear algebra and number theory.
Matthew Gruwell is now associate professor of Biology. He teaches evolutionary biology, genetics, invertebrate zoology and entomology.
David Kahl is now associate professor of Communication. He teaches effective speech, professional public speaking, instructional communication, gender communication, non-verbal communication and small-group communication.
Beth Potter is now associate professor of Microbiology. She teaches microbiology, immunology and bacterial pathogenesis.
Carol Wilson is now associate professor of Psychology. She teaches social psychology, personality psychology, statistics and the psychology of interpersonal relationships.
Previously tenured faculty member Charisse Nixon has been promoted to professor of Psychology. She teaches developmental, adolescent, child and gender psychology and research methods. She also serves as director of the Prevention of Aggression Resource Center and the Susan Hirt Hagan Center for Community Outreach.
