ERIE, Pa. — The Young People’s Chorus of Erie, a youth outreach program of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, will hold open rehearsals later this month for its 2017-18 season.

Open rehearsals give young people between the ages of 7–18 the opportunity to attend a rehearsal, meet the staff and learn about YPC Erie. The chorus is northwestern Pennsylvania’s only comprehensive youth choral music program, with children from 30 different schools.

The rehearsals will be held at Penn State Behrend and First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, located at 250 W. Seventh St., during the weeks of Aug. 28 and Sept. 4. To register for an open rehearsal, call the YPC Erie office at 814-898-6789.

YPC Erie specializes in healthy vocal technique, music literacy and music theory. The chorus performs at various public and private events. Families who demonstrate need are eligible for financial assistance.
