The Penn State Behrend wrestling team defeated Penn State Altoona and Alfred State at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference duals at Pitt-Bradford on Jan. 11. Cole Neil, a sophomore from St. Marys, and Steffan Lynch, a sophomore from North East, each posted a 3-0 record.

Fifteen student teams using artificial intelligence (AI) to make the world a better place have been awarded a total of $4,500 ($300 each) in the Prototype Phase of the Nittany AI Challenge. This year’s Nittany AI Challenge includes new partners and resources providing even more opportunities for student success.
Ozgun C. Demirag, a faculty member with more than 15 years of experience in teaching, research and academic leadership, has been appointed director of Penn State Behrend’s Black School of Business, where she has taught since 2009.
Dennis J. Prischak, president and CEO of the Plastek Group, an Erie-based manufacturer of plastics packaging for the personal care, pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries, has been named one of 12 Penn State Alumni Fellows for 2024.
The Penn State Behrend men’s swimming and diving team opened Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action with a win over Penn State Altoona on Dec. 7, finishing 154-116. The women’s team also won, 181-90.
Four Schreyer Scholars have been chosen to receive awards from Schreyer Honors College. These Scholars have demonstrated ethical leadership, academic excellence and a drive to passionately serve their local community.
