Edward P. “Ted” Junker III, a Penn State trustee emeritus and 40-year member of the Penn State Behrend Council of Fellows, died Dec. 10 at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He was 79.
The New York Stock Exchange was created beneath a tree: On May 17, 1792, a small group of merchants gathered beneath a leafy buttonwood in front of 68 Wall St. to set rules for how their securities would be traded. The result, known as the “Buttonwood Agreement,” set commissions at one-quarter of a percent.

Construction of Trippe Hall, a four-story, 251-bed residence hall at Penn State Behrend, is expected to begin in December. The $28.4 million building will be located near Ohio Hall, at the southwestern corner of the campus.
