Conference Travel for Penn State Behrend Students
Rolling review: Applications due 30 days prior to travel.
Penn State Behrend undergraduates who present research or creative work at national or regional professional conferences may apply for financial support to help cover registration and attendance costs.
If the requested amount is $400 or greater, expenses will be divided between the student’s college of enrollment dean’s office and the sponsoring academic school. The dean’s office contribution is capped at $800 per student, or 2/3 of total travel award up to $1,200. Funding in excess of $1,200 is at the discretion of the school. To qualify, students must be conference presenters, and presentations must be related to their academic program.
Only one application should be submitted per presentation. For projects with multiple undergraduate presenters, submit one application (using the name of a student presenter) and list co-presenters in the designated section for additional participants, up to two. Awards for these applications will be based on the costs for the entire group to attend. Group applications should, where possible, include shared housing and travel costs to maximize efficient use of available funds. Due to limited resources, support for student travel is restricted to three students per presentation and two presentations per conference.
