ERIE, Pa. — The Jazz Ensemble at Penn State Behrend will perform its fall concert at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, in the McGarvey Commons of the college’s Reed Union Building.
The concert will feature traditional jazz standards by Earle Hagen, Glenn Miller, Miles Davis and Wayne Shorter, as well as modern compositions by Fred Sturm, Jeremy Levy and Jacob Mann. Assistant teaching professor of music Joel Hunt conducts the Behrend Jazz Ensemble, which is comprised of saxophones, trumpets, trombones and a rhythm section consisting of piano, guitar, bass and drums.
“The program spans nearly 80 years of jazz history and showcases a variety of styles from early swing to recent jazz fusion,” Hunt said.
