ERIE, Pa. — We’re at our strongest when we have the support of loved ones helping to lift us up. It’s not dissimilar from how a singing voice gains strength when it joins other voices in a choir.
That strength will be on display next month during “Lift Every Voice,” the spring concert from the Choirs of Penn State Behrend.
The concert will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 14, in the college’s McGarvey Commons. It is free and open to the public.
“Our theme, ‘Lift Every Voice,’ is drawn from a well-known hymn telling a story of struggle and eventual triumph. Its text urges singers and listeners forward, encouraging them to be bold and fearless in telling their stories,” said Gabrielle Dietrich, assistant teaching professor of music and director of choral ensembles at the college. “This concert is also an exhortation to strength and courage and will leave listeners uplifted and inspired.”
The concert will feature selections from folk, classical, Broadway and pop traditions.
