Penn State Behrend's English degree offers courses in literary and cultural studies, and in various forms of writing. Students majoring in English may select the Literature or the Professional Writing Option.
Penn State Behrend's B.F.A. in Creative Writing major allows students to develop their writing skills through craft classes, literature classes, and writing workshops, in preparation for a variety of post-graduation options, from continuing on to M.F.A. degree programs to working in the professional fields of publishing, editing, and education.
Penn State Behrend offers two degrees in Psychology. The B.A. is structured within a liberal arts framework, while the B.S. takes a quantitative approach. Within the B.S., three options are offered for further specialization: Human Factors and Design; Psychology in the Workplace; and Science.
In April 2019, Scott Sada, who graduated from Penn State Behrend with a plastics engineering technology degree, hit his 82nd double against Medaille to become the NCAA Division III all-time leader in career doubles. He would add eight more before the season ended.
