Research
Scientific research can be a big part of your undergraduate research experience at Penn State Behrend. Students in the School of Science collaborate with professors on research projects that make a difference, from an astrophysicist conducting experiments for NASA that involve theoretical modeling of planetary climates to chemists synthesizing new molecules of interest to industry and pharmacy.
Penn State Behrend annually funds approximately $250,000 in undergraduate research opportunities. Each student is eligible for grants ranging from $700 to $1,200 and follows an application process that includes selecting a faculty mentor, developing a research project, and creating a formal proposal. The college also hosts an undergraduate research conference each year where students present their work.
