Penn State University is transitioning from Duo to Microsoft Multifactor authentication (MFA). Multifactor authentication (MFA) adds a layer of protection to the sign-in process. When accessing accounts or apps, users provide additional identity verification, such as scanning a fingerprint or entering a code received by phone.
If you encounter any issues, please email [email protected] to enter a ticket.
Yubico Keys are the supported physical key for MFA but are not necessary for authentication. These will replace the DUO tokens as necessary. Yubico keys can be purchased from the Penn State University Software store:
All returning student accounts were migrated on May 8th. Many may need assistance with device enrollment. Please have them contact IT for support at: [email protected].
Departments will be notified when to self-enroll. This is an active list that will be updated as needed. For assistance, we will have staff in your offices (where possible) the day after your notification for assistance. Housing and Food Services along with Maintenance departments will be coordinated separately.
