Hazardous materials, such as chemicals, infectious materials and radioactive materials are a necessary part of research and operations at the college. The handling, transportation, and disposal of these materials are strictly regulated by federal and Pennsylvania regulations in addition to policies at Penn State. Penn State's Office of Environmental Health and Safety closely monitors these materials to protect the environment.
