Community members are invited to gain a closer look at the theory of evolution when Penn State Behrend celebrates Darwin Day with an evening of activities on Feb. 12. Held annually on the birthday of Charles Darwin, the day pays tribute to his legacy and scientific findings.
Penn State Behrend's swimming and diving teams dominated Washington and Jefferson in non-conference action on Jan. 12. Ten of the men won their events. In the women’s meet, three swimmers – Barbie Cessar, Abigail Witmer and Jessica Wyckoff – each won three events.
Charlotte de Vries, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Penn State Behrend, spent the summer of 2017 at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, as part of a NASA Fellowship where she worked with ECLSS engineers. The Penn State Behrend men’s basketball team has won its last nine games, including the championship match at the Purple and Gold Tournament in Defiance, Ohio. The team is undefeated at home this season.
In fall 2018, Penn State Behrend Assistant Professor Arpan Yagnik joined forces with the University's Consortium to Combat Substance Abuse and asked his advertising classes to create multiple campaigns for the awareness, education or prevention of opioid abuse.
