A $950,000 expansion of the advanced nursing labs at Penn State Behrend gives students access to high-fidelity simulation mannequins, which can mimic almost any health emergency. The added capacity could support a 40 percent increase in enrollment in the college's nursing program.
Dubbed the “Millennial Kronos” for their eclectic repertoire and dynamic view on 21st-century musicianship, SYBARITE5 performs everything from Bowie to Radiohead and Akiho to Assad. On Friday, Feb. 15, the group will bring their unique performance style to Penn State Behrend when they perform as part of Music at Noon: The Logan Series.

The Penn State Behrend men’s basketball team has used a balanced offense to build a 15-2 record: Andy Niland, a senior from Fairview, scored a career-high 31 points against Alfred State. Malike Brinson, a senior from Erie, set his own career mark with 20 points against Mt. Aloysius.

Penn State Behrend's swimming and diving teams dominated Washington and Jefferson in non-conference action on Jan. 12. Ten of the men won their events. In the women’s meet, three swimmers – Barbie Cessar, Abigail Witmer and Jessica Wyckoff – each won three events.
Charlotte de Vries, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Penn State Behrend, spent the summer of 2017 at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, as part of a NASA Fellowship where she worked with ECLSS engineers. She will discuss her experience on Thursday, Jan. 31, when Open House Night in Astronomy returns to Penn State Behrend.
