What is CAPM Certification?
Earning the CAPM® credential shows you hold the foundational knowledge and skills that project teams demand. It also shows that you’re ready to take on a wide range of projects, including predictive (waterfall) project management, agile project management, and business analysis.
The CAPM® certification can be an essential first step in building a career as a project manager. It also allows you to position yourself to pursue other key certifications including the Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation.
The Project Management Institute (PMI®) now offers an updated 150-question CAPM® certification exam that covers project management fundamentals and core concepts. Updates to the exam include:
- Agile frameworks/methodologies
- Business analysis frameworks
- Predictive plan-based methodologies
The Pennsylvania State University is a PMI® Authorized Training Partner (A.T.P.) and is committed to enhancing the ongoing professional development of PMI Members, PMI-certified Project Management Professionals, and other project management stakeholders.
What Can a CAPM® Credential Do for You?
According to PMI, being CAPM® certified creates opportunities for entry-level project management roles like project coordinator associate and junior project manager.
Earning your CAPM® certification means automatically meeting the 35 hours of project management education and training required to sit for the PMP exam.
Whether you're looking to build on your current skillset or pursue an exciting new career, the CAPM® distinguishes your skills and empowers you to build the project management career of your dreams.
