More than 150 plastics industry professionals from 40-plus companies are expected on the Penn State Behrend campus when the Innovation and Emerging Plastics Technologies Conference returns to the college June 8-9.

The Penn State Behrend baseball team lost to Mount Aloysius in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship game, falling short in both halves of a doubleheader. Jake Dietz, Isaac Stouffer and John Berger were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Five Penn State finance students — four at Penn State World Campus and one at Penn State Behrend — received scholarships that will aid in their access to and completion of industry exams. The exams cover a variety of industry topics, including characteristics of alternative asset class strategies and portfolio management concepts.
The Penn State Behrend men’s track and field team won its sixth consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference championship on May 8, finishing with 302 team points. The women’s team also won, claiming a fifth CSAC title — the team’s first since 2019.
On his first shift in the intensive care unit at UPMC Hamot, Grant Oishi, a nursing student at Penn State Behrend, saw the worst of the work ahead: He helped care for a patient who no longer had brain activity, and whose organs would soon be removed by transplant teams. But it was the 10-week rotation in the intensive care unit that had the most meaning for him, despite the rough start.
Penn State Behrend’s baseball and softball teams won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference regular-season titles and will enter the conference championship tournaments with the No. 1 seeds.
