More than a dozen student leaders and campus organizations were honored at the Excellence in Student Leadership and Service Awards at Penn State Behrend. The program was held in McGarvey Commons on April 14.
The Penn State Behrend baseball team has won its last six games, including a 15-2 victory over Hiram on April 15. Ten players had a hit in that game. Three players – Zack Bowen, Chase Palmer and John Berger – had three hits.
Penn State's sexual misconduct climate survey will close on April 22. The survey was sent to a random sample of students at all Penn State campuses; students can check their Penn State email for a link to complete the survey. The University-wide survey is designed to assess issues of sexual assault, misconduct and harassment.
More than 130 students were honored at Penn State Behrend’s annual Honors and Awards Convocation, which was held in-person for the first time since 2019.
The Penn State Behrend men’s volleyball team won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship, defeating Geneva, 3-1. The team ends the season with a 22-7 record. The Lions will face Springfield in the NCAA Division III tournament on April 15.
Each year, Penn State recognizes outstanding faculty and staff with annual awards in teaching and excellence. These awards highlight many of the faculty and staff who go above and beyond.
Nate Brown, professor of mathematics in the Eberly College of Science; and Courtney Nagle, associate professor of mathematics education at Penn State Behrend, are the recipients of the 2022 Milton S. Eisenhower Award for Distinguished Teaching.
Six Penn State faculty members have received the 2022 George W. Atherton Award for Excellence in Teaching. They are Carol Evans, lecturer of biology at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus; Lauren Kramer, associate teaching professor of kinesiology in the College of Health and Human Development; Debra Majetic, assistant teaching professor of radiological sciences at Penn State New Kensington; Heather McCune Bruhn, assistant teaching professor of art history in the College of Arts and Architecture; Ashley Patterson, assistant professor of education in the College of Education and Eric Robbins, assistant teaching professor of finance at Penn State Behrend.
